Stay with us here: The secret ingredient that's hidden in your
pantry is....Jell-O?! Yes, believe it. If you've got a couple of leftover boxes of Jell-O or instant pudding mix, you're in for a (literal) treat, and not just Jell-O shots. (Though we've got plenty of Jell-O shot recipes for you, of course.) After you try our strawberry pretzel tart, you'll realize all the delicious desserts that Jell-O can create.
Jell-O instant pudding mix is often the key to some of our all-time favorite no-bake desserts, like creamsicle cheesecake, peanut butter dessert lasagna and banana pudding icebox cake. And you don't have to be a kid to love dirt pudding, TBH. We sure love dirt pudding. So much so that we made an XXL version of the childhood classic in the form of our dirt cake. Because why not?
Never made Jell-O shots or want to refine your skills? We've got a handy how-to on making the best Jell-O shots for your next party. Our recipes for Oreo Jell-O shots, chocolate-covered strawberry Jell-O shots, Negroni Jell-O shots, and are proof that shots can be fun and kinda classy.
Jell-O also adds a surprising pop of color and flavor to your favorite treats. Use powdered Jell-O mix to make a beautiful ombre effect when icing our creamsicle ombre cake, or to make these colorful, tart sour patch grapes.

Creamsicle Ombre Cake
It's surprisingly easy to frost a cake with this ombre effect: Simply split your frosting into 4 bowls and color each using increasingly more food dye than the last. Pipe them around the cake, then use a bench scraper or offset spatula to smooth them out. Hot tip: Don't skip refrigerating the crumb coat! It makes it a LOT easier to frost once it's been chilled.
