NPE Re-Proposal: Queen Chrysalis (2024)

Now that i'm finished with the proposal of King Sombra, now it's time for me to remake the proposal of Queen Chrysalis. The last one will be Beatstar from Ultraman Zero Side Story: Killer the Beatstar.

What's the work?[]

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a 2010 animated fantasy children's television series based on My Little Pony franchise created by Bonnie Zacherle and developed by Lauren Faust. The series was first aired on October 10, 2010 before it was concluded on October 12, 2019 with the ninth season as the last of the show. The series follows the adventures of an intelligent and studios unicorn-turned Alicorn named Twilight Sparkle, along with her friends tomboyish and reckless Rainbow Dash, hardworking and stubborn Applejack, cheerful and optimistic Pinkie Pie, shy and kind-hearted Fluttershy, vain and elegant Rarity and her dragon assistant Spike, who travels all around Equestria to help others and solve many friendship problems.

Who is she?[]

Queen Chrysalis is one of the main antagonists (alongside Lord Tirek and Cozy Glow) of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. She is a main antagonist of the Season 2 finale "A Canterlot Wedding", the Season 6 finale "To Where and Back Again", and the Season 8 episode "The Mean 6". In Season 9, she became one of the main antagonists of the season alongside Tirek and Cozy. She is one of Twilight Sparkle's arch-enemies and Starlight Glimmer's arch-nemesis.

She used to be the queen of the Changelings until she was dethroned and defeated by Thorax and Starlight Glimmer, became obsessed with her vengeance against the Mane Six and Starlight Glimmer. She, alongside Tirek and Cozy, are recruited by "Grogar" (who is actually Discord in disguise) to join the Legion of Doom before they betrayed him and steal the Bewitching Bell to conquer Equestria together. Finally, they were defeated by the Mane Six and their allies.

What she has done?[]

At some point before the events of "A Canterlot Wedding", she captured Princess Cadance and imprisoned her at the caves beneath Canterlot before taking the form of her.

After the Mane Six and Spike arrived at Canterlot to attend Princess Cadance and Shining Armor's wedding, Chrysalis, in her Cadance form, casually ignores Twilight and smiles evilly at her. Twilight noticed something suspicious of her, but her friends casually dismissed it as her wedding stress. Twilight wants to talk to Shining Armor, but he was called by "Cadance" and cast a spell on him to heal his migraine. Twilight noticed that her brother's eyes are glowing green. The next morning, Twilight barged into the wedding hall and accused "Cadance" of being evil, resulting her of pretending to cry and runs away while successfully turning her brother, her friends and even her mentor against Twilight. Twilight sadly attempt to apologize to her, but "Cadance" doesn't forgive her and instead imprisoned her inside the cave.

At the caves beneath Canterlot, she mockingly taunts Twilight to trick her into attacking the real Cadance, but Cadance gets her to realize she's the real one and worked together to escape from the caves. During the wedding, Twilight burst in and brought the real Cadance to others. Cadance then reveal to everypony that she's a changeling, forcing her to reveal her true form. After Celestia is defeated and the Changelings invade Canterlot due to protection barrier goes down, the Mane Six went to retrieve the Elements of Harmony but Chrysalis order her subjects to stop them. After the Mane Six failed to retrieve the Elements, she proceeds to boastfully gloats over her victory. Twilight sneaks past behind Chrysalis and releasing Princess Cadance to help her freeing Shining Armor from her brainwashing. Finally, Cadance and Shining's love is powerful enough to defeat Chrysalis and the Changelings, sending them away from the Canterlot.

In one of alternate timelines created by Starlight, Chrysalis and the Changelings successfully conquer Equestria where Zecora and the other ponies formed the resistance against them. After Twilight and Spike arrived at the alternate timeline, she and two of the Changelings disguised themselves as Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Rarity, but Zecora is able to see through their disguise. She tried to convince Zecora to surrender her village before the war begins while Twilight and Spike managed to travel through back in time to stop Starlight.

Chrysalis sent the Changelings to kidnapped most of Equestria's beloved figures and replaced them by disguised as them, much to Starlight and Trixie's horror after they discovered it. To stop Chrysalis and the Changelings, Starlight, Trixie, Thorax and Discord teamed up to save their allies from them. When Starlight and her group infiltrate the Changeling Kingdom, she confronted Thorax for "abandoning" their hive and is able to see through his disguise as Starlight. She then confronts the real Starlight and reveals her ultimate goal of having her subjects feed on love and return it to her so to make sure she stays in power at all costs. Starlight tries to tell her that sharing love is the only solution for the better of her people and how she knew what it's like to lead by fear and intimidation, but Chrysalis refused to listen and absorbed Thorax's love for herself. Starlight told Thorax to share all love to her which he transformed into a colorful form, causing his people to follow the same suit as him, defeating Chrysalis. Now Chrysalis is dethroned and have nothing to lead her subjects, Starlight convince her by saying she could be a better leader than before. Unfortunately for Starlight, Chrysalis choose to reject her offer and instead swearing revenge on her before she ran away.

Chrysalis infiltrate the School of Friendship by disguised herself as Crackle Cosette to take pictures of the Mane Six and pulling one strand of hair from each of them. Pinkie told her to take a picture of Starlight, which she reluctantly did. She went to Everfree Forest and creating the clones out of the rest of the Mane Six in order to get revenge on the Mane Six and mostly Starlight. She order the clones to take control of the Elements of Harmony and make her a new hive. Whenever one of the clones are disobeying her and goofing off, she immediately loses her patience and became furious at them. Later that night, they went to the Mane Six's campsite and found the Tree of Harmony. Discovering that they're planning to betray her, she attempt to attack them out of rage until the Elements of Harmony dissolve the clones into nothing. She later swore her revenge on Starlight.

Without her subjects by her side, Chrysalis become mentally unstable over her loss before she was teleported to a skull-shaped lair alongside Tirek, Cozy and Sombra by "Grogar" (who's actually Discord in disguise). When "Grogar" convince them to join him in fight against the Mane Six in order to conquer the Equestria, Sombra refused to join him in allegiance and prefer to take over Equestria by himself, much to others' annoyance. While Cozy convince Chrysalis and Tirek to get along with each other, "Grogar" returns and showing how Sombra is defeated to them as a warning if they won't agree to submit to him, causing the villains to nervously agreed.

"Grogar" order Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy to retrieve the Bewitching Bell from Mt. Everhoof. Though they refused to work together in prefer of working alone instead, they decide to resolve their issues and agreed to work together to retrieve the Bell from Mt. Everhoof. After they managed to retrieve it, they almost reformed together but Chrysalis quickly snaps at them from doing so by claiming friendship is a disease like what it did to her subjects. Fearing what "Grogar" would do since he's more powerful and fearful than them, they decide to scheming against him. Back at the lair, they lied to "Grogar" that they failed to retrieve the Bell. Though he became enraged at first, "Grogar" became impressed they managed to work together. Unknowingly to "Grogar", they hide the Bell behind his back to use it against him.

In order to learn how to use the Bewitching Bell and how it works, Chrysalis and her comrades went to Canterlot to infiltrate the Archives' restricted area. They took part in sabotaging the last Summer Sun Celebration so they could infiltrate the Canterlot Archives and steal a book with the information about the Bewitching Bell from a restricted area. After they return to the lair, they later use a book so they could properly use the Bewitching Bell for nefarious purposes. As Cozy complains that the last Summer Sun Celebration was saved before it completely ruined, Chrysalis reminds her that it was a mere distraction instead of sabotaging it whatever they want. Cozy is the one who suggests that they should get Earth ponies, Unicorns and Pegasi turn against each other, which Chrysalis liked that idea.

After turning three pony races against each other, Chrysalis and her comrades successfully unlocked the power of Bewitching Bell, turning themselves into becoming more powerful than ever before. When "Grogar" returns to the lair, they turned against him by absorbing his magic with the Bewitching Bell and revealed they hide it behind his back, which revealing him to be Discord in disguise. After Discord ran away, she and Tirek agreed to help Cozy testing the Bell's power, but only for her to turn against them after she became more chaotic than ever. However, Cozy has no full control over the power and later turn back to normal by Chrysalis and Tirek. While she and her comrades lay siege on Equestria, Chrysalis fought Starlight and successfully defeated her.

She and Tirek later aid Cozy in fighting against Twilight and her friends. When Twilight attempt to stand up against them, she and her comrades cruelly laughed at her and revealing they were the ones who turned three pony races against each other so the Mane Six wouldn't use the magic of friendship against them. They released their magic beams at Twilight and her friends, but only for her to escape while the others are staying behind. As Twilight's friends, the Princesses and Discord are imprisoned, she suggests her comrades to torture them so they could feel their despair and mocks Tirek for being aware that Twilight may up to something. After Discord tricks Tirek into releasing others, the villains fought the Princesses and Discord while Twilight's friends escaped to find her.

After the Windigoes appear above the sky, Chrysalis suggests they should use them for their advantage to take control over the ponies once they "defeated" them and only disagrees when Tirek suggest to deal with them since it would be unwise to leave them unchecked. Later, they went to face the Mane Six and Spike and fought with them. Realize that they're tried to obtained the Bewitching Bell from them, they threaten to rip off Spike's wings in order to make them surrender and break their spirit. When they about to finish the Mane Six and Spike off, the rest of Equestria are join in to help them fight against the villains. However, they've had enough with the rest of them before Twilight stands up to them for everything they have done. The Mane Six, along with the Young Six and the Pillars of Old Equestria, are releasing the beam of rainbow at the villains, depowering them as result.

While Cozy and Tirek backed away in fear, Chrysalis furiously swore her vengeance against them before a giant cupcake lands on them. After they get out of the cupcake, Celestia and Luna became furious over their actions and crimes before Discord suggest they should turn them into stones. Celestia, Luna and Discord proceed in turning the villains into stones, ending their reign of terror once and for all.

What makes her close to being Pure Evil?[]

• Captured Princess Cadance and imprisoned her at the caves beneath Canterlot before she disguised at her.
• Brainwash Shining Armor in order to lower the magical barrier around Canterlot
• When Twilight accused her for being evil, she manipulate her family and friends into turning against her by pretending to cry over what she did.
• After Twilight is kicked out of the wedding, she imprisoned her in the caves beneath Canterlot to prevent her from getting in her way.
• Mockingly taunt Twilight at the caves just to trick her into attacking the real Princess Cadance, but only for her to recognize her and worked together to escape.
• After her disguise is revealed in front of everypony, she starts a Changeling invasion on Canterlot and order them to destroy the magical barrier after its weakened, endangering other ponies here.
• Order the Changelings to stop the Mane Six from retrieving the Elements of Harmony.
• Mocks and blamed the Mane Six and other ponies for ignoring Twilight's suspicions of her during the wedding rehearsal, which shows that she refused to take blame and responsibility for her actions.
• sad*stically watching the Changelings causing rampage on Canterlot.
• In one of alternate timelines created by Starlight, she successfully managed to conquer Equestria if if weren't the Mane Six and the Sonic Rainboom. She also threaten Zecora to surrender her village, but only for her to fought if she refused.
• Order the Changelings to kidnap Equestria's most beloved figures and imprisoned them inside cocoons at the Changeling Kingdom.
• Accused Thorax for abandoning the Changeling Kingdom by "betraying" his subjects.
• Admitted to Starlight that she doesn't even care for her fellow Changelings, revealing she only starve them in order to stay in power at all costs. Though she said she only does this for the good of her subjects, it was clearly a lie and manipulations due to how megalomaniacal she is.
• Attempt to drain Thorax by absorbing love inside of him.
• Reject Starlight's offer of redemption and swearing vengeance on her instead.
• Creating the clones out of Mane Six in order to take control of the Elements of Harmony and make her a new hive.
• Whenever each of the clones of Mane Six disobeyed her, she would mistreated them out of sheer anger. She later attempt to kill them after discovering they're planning to betray her.
• Though she and her comrades agreed to submit to "Grogar" after he shows them Sombra's defeat, it was merely out of cowardice rather than genuine loyalty.
• Realize that they came close to redeem themselves, she immediately snaps at her comrades out of it by reminding them that friendship is like a "disease" just like what it did to her hive.
• She and her comrades are planning to betray "Grogar" and hid the Bewitching Bell against his back before they could use against him.
• She and her comrades lied to "Grogar" by claiming that they failed to retrieve the Bewitching Bell, which is part of their plan before they could make a move to betray him.
• In order to learn how to unlock the power of Bewitching Bell and used it properly, they infiltrate the Canterlot Archives to look for a book with an information of the Bell. They also took their part in sabotaging the last Summer Sun Celebration as a distraction, with her mocking Fire Flare and her team's skills of displaying fireworks.
• She and her comrades are turning the three pony races against each other just to weaken the magic of friendship in order to make the Mane Six became powerless.
• She and her comrades turning against "Grogar" by absorbing his chaos power, only to reveal he was actually Discord in disguise.
• She and her comrades went to lay siege on Equestria.
• Fought Starlight Glimmer and easily defeated her without hesitation.
• She and Tirek help Cozy Glow defeat the Mane Six and their allies and defends her from them.
• She and her comrades breaking Twilight's spirits by mockingly laugh at her face and revealing they're the ones who turned three pony races against each other.
• She and her comrades attempt to destroy the Mane Six and their allies by firing their magic beams at them.
• She and her comrades imprisoned Twilight's friends and their allies after Twilight ran away from them.
• Prefers to torture her enemies just to make them feel their despair unlike Cozy who wants to cause some destruction and Tirek who suggests they should hunt down Twilight due to being aware she's still out there somewhere.
• Planning to use the Windigoes for her and her comrades' advantage to take control of the ponies by "defeating" them while the other two disagrees with the idea.
• She and her comrades tried to prevent the Mane Six and Spike from taking the Bewitching Bell from them just to remain victorious.
• She and her comrades threatened to rip off Spike's wings if the Mane Six doesn't surrender. Even though they gave him back to them, they only get whatever they want and attempt to finish them all before the entire forces of Equestria arrived for their aid.
• Had enough of the entire Equestrian forces, she and her comrades defeated all of them before they could finish what they've started.
• Unlike her comrades who only backed away in fear, she furiously swearing vengeance against the Mane Six and the others and proclaimed that they'll return before a giant cupcake drops on them when Pinkie uses the chaos magic.
• While she and her comrades are turned into stone, she attempt to attack the ponies out of rage and anger.
• Though she has comedic moments, none of them detract from her villainy and are taken 100% seriously, especially the part where she goes insane before she got teleported by "Grogar".

What prevents her from being Pure Evil?[]

In the season nine finale, she relies on Fridge Horror, twice.

• It wasn't confirmed that she and her comrades would leave everypony in Equestria to die in frozen by the Windigoes before they could destroy them. (It is likely because of the light-hearted and sugar bowl nature of the show)
• She and her comrades never intended to destroy the rest of Equestria forces just like they did to the Mane Six and Spike.

Debated validations[]

• It is unknown if she cared for Lord Tirek and Cozy Glow after everything they've been through. After she saved them from Ophiotaurus, she has a hard time to admitted that she needed them for most, implied if she genuinely did cared for them or not. She did saved Cozy Glow from falling off the mountains, but there wasn't confirmed if they did cared for each other. Though they almost befriended with each other after they managed to retrieve the Bewitching Bell together, it doesn't came close to such a moment will never come again.

Final verdict[]

One simple easy yes for her because of her invasion at Canterlot, for the way she treated her subjects and laying a siege on Equestria alongside her comrades.
