Maybe because it’s the state where I fell in love and was married, but I love all things Mardi Gras! I remember watching the parades all over the state of Louisiana and loving the celebration each year when Mardi Gras rolled around.

Now that we’re living in Arizona we aren’t heading to any Mardi Gras parades this week, but I will be sipping one (or two) of my Mardi Gras Martinis and celebrating in my own way!

Ingredients in Mardi Gras Martini Recipe

  • Grape Vodka: We prefer grape vodka for this recipe.
  • Peach Schnapps: The peach schnapps flavors paired with the grape vodka tastes incredible.
  • Grape Juice: The grape juice gives this drink the purple coloring that gives out all the vibes of Mardi Gras and Louisiana. It’s delicious, and the perfect juice for your co*cktail drinks.
  • Colored Sugar Sprinkles: – Think all the colors of a king cake martini–purple sugar sprinkles, green sugar sprinkles, and gold or yellow! The extra sprinkle of colored sugars really makes the drink!
  • Simple Syrup: You’ll make your own simple syrup for this co*cktail. Don’t worry, it’s really easy to make your own simple syrup at home. (1 tbsp sugar + 1 tbsp water)
  • Martini Glass: Be sure to have a few extra martini glasses – your family and friends will want in on a delicious co*cktail.
  • co*cktail Shaker: If you make co*cktails often, you’ll need a co*cktail shaker. We prefer a more simplified version that stores easily and is a big enough size to shake and make a few drinks at the same time.

How to Make Mardi Gras Martini Recipe

  1. Make a simple syrup by microwaving 1 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp water on high for 30 seconds. Stir mixture for 30 seconds. Pour syrup on a saucer.
  2. On a separate saucer, lay purple, green and gold sprinkles. Dip martini glass in simple syrup and then dip rim of glass with sprinkles, rotating 1/3 of glass in each color.
  3. In a shaker with ice, pour Grape Vodka, Peach Schnapps and Grape Juice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain into martini glass.
  4. Laissez les bon temps rouler! (Let the good times roll!)

Recipe Tips

  • We recommend that you rim the glass with simple syrup. The simple syrup will stick to the rim, and allow for the sugar sprinkles to be evenly distributed along the entire martini glass rim.
  • If you aren’t able to find three colored sugars for the sprinkles, do your best to track down purple and either gold or green. These are the traditional colors of king cakes and all things Mardi Gras.
  • As always, drink responsibly and be safe!
